416 students graduate from Reko Diq Mining technical training program

QUETTA – The Reko Diq Mining Company Technical Institute in Nokundi, Chagai district, celebrated the successful completion of six-month vocational training by 416 students on Friday. The institute, jointly run by the Hunar Foundation and Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC), equips youth with diverse technical skills to boost employability and support local development.

Among the graduates, 278 were male and 138 female, all of whom completed the institute’s comprehensive skill-based courses. The training covered various trades, providing participants with practical knowledge essential for employment and community development. The ceremony marked a milestone in the ongoing collaboration between RDMC and THF.

Project Director Nadeem Manzoor congratulated the graduates, highlighting the long-term benefits of the partnership. “This initiative reflects our commitment to empowering local communities and equipping the youth with skills that can shape their futures,” he said.

Essa Tahir, lead of the RDMC Community Investment team, emphasised the importance of skill development. “We are proud to see our graduates contributing to one of Pakistan’s most significant mining projects,” he added, underlining the transformative role of vocational training in fostering economic opportunities.

Tahir Javed, CEO of the Hunar Foundation, reiterated the institute’s dedication to cultural inclusion and local empowerment. RDMC HR Head Hanno Staden also addressed the graduates, delivering his remarks in Balochi, reflecting respect for local culture and heritage.

Graduates shared personal success stories during the ceremony, showcasing how the training positively impacted their livelihoods and employment prospects. The event concluded with a formal distribution of certificates, celebrating the achievements of the young participants and inspiring continued engagement in skill development programs.
