The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Balochistan has exposed a major fake promotions scandal within the Levies Force, leading to multiple arrests and an ongoing crackdown on officials involved in fraudulent activities. According to ACE, a series of complaints, social media reports and a confidential inquiry prompted the investigation.

Officials reviewed service records and found that 20 Levies personnel in Zhob district had been unlawfully promoted from Grade-7 to Havaldar (Grade-9) through forged documents. Similarly, fake promotions of six Levies officials in Kachhi district were confirmed. The inquiry also revealed fraudulent elevation of personnel from Risaldar to Risaldar Major in Qila Saifullah and several other districts.

The investigation uncovered a wide network of officials involved in preparing fake promotion orders, forging signatures and manipulating official records. ACE stated that the scheme appeared to be coordinated, with multiple personnel playing key roles in issuing and verifying forged documents to secure higher ranks illegally.

During the ongoing operation, former section officer Jamshed Gul, clerk/junior clerk Syed Abid Shah, Risaldar Muhammad Tahir and Assistant/Acting Private Secretary Saleem Lashari were arrested. ACE officials said these individuals were directly involved in preparing or facilitating the fraudulent paperwork that allowed the illegal promotions to take place.

Additionally, Risaldars Abdullah Khan, Ghulam Murtaza, Syed Tariq Shah and Muhammad Arif were found complicit in securing or supporting the forged promotions. Raids are currently underway to arrest them, and more names may surface as the inquiry progresses. ACE has vowed to ensure accountability across the Levies Force and to prevent similar misuse of authority in the future.
