
The UAE has introduced major visa reforms for Pakistanis, including online processing, e-visas without passport stamping, and a new visa centre. Nearly 500 visas are now processed daily, officials said. The reforms aim to make travel smoother for businesspersons and visitors.
The announcement came during a meeting between UAE Ambassador H.E. Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. Ambassador Al Zaabi highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries and the significant contributions of Pakistani professionals in the UAE. He said strengthening strategic, economic, and cultural links would be a key priority.

Aurangzeb welcomed the reforms and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the UAE. He noted that smoother mobility will boost trade, investment, and business-to-business exchanges. He also appreciated the UAE’s consistent support across trade, remittances, government financing, and international engagements.
The meeting also discussed expanding economic cooperation, including UAE investments in ports, digital banking, logistics, infrastructure, and sectors like IT, AI, fintech, agriculture, and education. Ambassador Al Zaabi emphasized that attracting Pakistani businesses and UAE investors would remain a focus of his tenure.

Defence cooperation, training exchanges, and historical military collaboration between the two nations were also reviewed. Both officials expressed a strong commitment to further enhance bilateral ties in all areas, from trade and investment to technology and defence.
