ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control on Wednesday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to resolve pending land and built-up property compensation cases for Islamabad residents. The cases involve land acquired by the CDA in sectors including E-12, C-13, C-14, C-15, C-16, and H-16.

Sector E-12, acquired in the 1970s and 1980s, still has unresolved compensation claims despite the sector’s launch in 1989. While development in two sub-sectors is mostly complete, the remaining areas face delays due to unresolved built-up property issues. Committee members stressed that genuine cases should be cleared promptly, while false claims must be rejected outright.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa informed the committee that consultations had begun with MNAs who raised concerns, but further discussions were required. The panel directed a follow-up meeting on December 2, 2025, with MNAs Anjum Aqeel Khan, Ibrar Ahmed, Aqeel Malik, and Syed Rafiullah to finalize pending matters and report progress in the next session.

The committee also addressed wage issues for workers at Parliament Lodges, noting that many were not receiving the government-mandated minimum wage. The CDA was instructed to ensure payments are made transparently through bank transfers or cheques. Additionally, the establishment of a Blue Area Food Street was discussed, with the CDA tasked to consult local traders and submit a report.
Other issues included pending government dues in the Intelligence Bureau Employees Cooperative Housing Society (IBECHS) and Gulberg Greens. The committee directed clearance of all dues, compensation for use of village roads or pipeline damages, and rectification of plot irregularities.

Finally, MNA Syed Rafiullah raised the alleged misbehavior of the Banigala Police Station SHO toward Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council officials, emphasizing the matter concerns parliamentary integrity. The committee called for proper investigation and resolution.
