Pakistan has expressed deep concern over a United Nations report highlighting serious human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir. The UN experts noted widespread abuses following the April attack in Pahalgam, which India blamed on Pakistan without evidence. Pakistan called the findings a confirmation of long-standing concerns about the situation in the occupied territory.
The foreign office said the report exposes systematic violations under Indian occupation, including arbitrary detentions, restrictions on media, and the use of strict laws like PSA and UAPA. Nearly 2,800 people, including journalists, students, and activists, remain in custody. The report also highlighted demolitions, forced evictions, repeated communication blackouts, and curbs on freedom of expression.

Pakistan pledged to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their struggle against foreign occupation. UN experts noted that post-Pahalgam, Indian forces detained over 2,000 people, destroyed homes, and denied detainees access to lawyers and families.
