
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced historic measures to give the Punjabi language a central role in education, culture, and public life. She chaired a meeting of ministers and secretaries to review departmental performance and directed immediate steps to implement key initiatives.
The Chief Minister emphasized education, announcing the “Education on Wheels” pilot project in Lahore to provide accessible learning across the city. She also called for laptop quotas in private universities and colleges to connect students with modern technology.

In public welfare and urban development, Maryam Nawaz directed that 20,000 labourers in Jhang and Kamalia be provided 3-marla plots under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” scheme, along with special loans. She also ordered plantations along railways, roads, and canal banks, and installation of modern forest fire warning systems with illegal tree-cutting sensors.
To promote sports, she instructed monthly championship events and opening school grounds to the public in the evenings. She also highlighted shrimp farming success, with exports already generating millions, and plans to expand shrimp farms from 5,000 to 50,000 acres.

Under her leadership, a new digital era of tourism is being launched in Punjab. The “Magnificent Punjab” app will guide tourists across the province, while comprehensive development packages will be created for each tourist site, aiming to boost both culture and local economy.
