
HYDERABAD: A powerful blast in an illegal fireworks factory in Latifabad No. 10 killed four workers on Friday. Five others were injured when a fire erupted after the explosion. The blast shook the entire residential area and triggered panic among nearby families.
Rescue teams reached the site within minutes and started firefighting operations. Fire brigade units fought the flames as smoke covered the neighborhood. Meanwhile, authorities shifted the bodies and injured workers to a local hospital. Doctors confirmed that some survivors suffered severe burns.

Officials later revealed that the factory was operating inside a residential settlement without legal approval. The explosion damaged nearby houses and left debris scattered across the street. Residents reported hearing multiple blasts before the fire spread through the structure.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took immediate notice of the tragedy. He ordered urgent medical treatment for the injured workers and directed the Hyderabad commissioner and deputy commissioner to submit a detailed report. He also asked for a full safety audit of the factory and surrounding facilities.

The chief minister vowed strict action against those responsible for the illegal operation. He stressed that negligence in worker safety would not be tolerated. Authorities said the investigation will determine why the factory continued operating despite safety risks and legal violations.
