A spectacular wave of art, rhythm and imagination swept through the Lahore Arts Council as the internationally acclaimed French theatre company Criz Biz’Art presented its celebrated circus theatre production, “Boucan.”
The performance, a dazzling fusion of movement, music and humour, enthralled audiences and reaffirmed Alhamra’s stature as a thriving center of cross-cultural creativity.
Under the patronage of the Government of Punjab, this remarkable showcase reflected Alhamra’s enduring commitment to artistic excellence and global cultural harmony. From the very first act, Boucan unfolded as a vivid tapestry of circus artistry, theatrical storytelling and live beatboxing, each element seamlessly intertwined to create an immersive sensory experience that transcended linguistic and cultural boundaries.
Directed by Laurie Roger, Jonah Katz, and Remy Bombled, Boucan delivered a masterful display of physical theatre, blending the poetry of motion with the pulse of live sound. Every leap, rhythm, and expression captured the spirit of contemporary performance art, leaving the hall reverberating with applause and admiration.
Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, graced the event and commended the French performers for their artistic brilliance and innovative expression, emphasizing that “such cultural collaborations illuminate the shared language of art that unites nations.”
Executive Director Alhamra, Mahboob Alam, praised the overwhelming public response, calling it “a testament to Alhamra’s evolving role as a bridge between global artistic communities and Pakistan’s vibrant audiences.”
The evening was not merely a performance; it was an experience. One that celebrated the universality of art and the power of cultural exchange to inspire, connect and transform.
