
LAHORE: The annual global Tablighi Congregation began at Raiwind on Thursday, set to conclude on Sunday with a special prayer session. The event started with a sermon by Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Batla, marking the first phase of the gathering.
Scholars from India and Bangladesh will address the participants during the congregation, which has been divided into two phases. The first phase, covering regions including Upper Dir, Bajaur, Chitral, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Kashmir, Mardan, Buner, Karak, and Sindh, will conclude on November 9.

Security arrangements have been intensified, with a large number of city traffic police and patrol police deployed to ensure smooth management of the event. Participants are expected from across the country as well as international delegations.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited the Tablighi Markaz in Raiwind, meeting senior leaders including Maulana Muhammad Ahmad, Maulana Ubaidullah Khurshid, and Dr. Saleem. During the meeting, he was briefed on the preparations for the upcoming international congregation.

The minister praised the Tablighi Jamaat’s contributions to Islam and assured full cooperation, stating that any visa-related issues faced by foreign participants would be resolved on a priority basis.
