
LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution expressing full support for the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The resolution was moved by PML-N MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt.
The resolution described the amendment as a crucial step toward institutional stability and transparency, emphasizing the need to grant constitutional protection to local governments to prevent arbitrary dissolution or undermining.

The House also welcomed the proposal to establish a Constitutional Court, calling it a positive move to strengthen the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.
The resolution highlighted that the amendment would reinforce provincial autonomy, maintain federal balance, and empower the Election Commission to function more independently and effectively.
