Punjab’s Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that after the success of the Metro Bus and Orange Line projects, Punjab is now preparing to launch tram and high-speed train services.
She stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is fulfilling the mandate given to her by the people of Punjab with dedication and distinction.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Azma said that Maryam Nawaz had redefined the standards of service and politics, which was the true reason for her rising popularity. She revealed that the CM had also approved the establishment of Punjab Air Company and, for the first time in the province’s history, introduced an Air Ambulance Service.
The minister said that the chief minister deserves full credit for introducing innovation in Punjab’s key sectors including transport, education, health, and agriculture. She added that development projects are being carried out without discrimination across the province – from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan and from Lahore to Sadiqabad.
Azma Bokhari further said that a Rs.100-billion relief package for flood-affected citizens is being distributed on a daily basis, while the “Kissan Card” initiative has emerged as one of the government’s most successful programs. Under the second phase of the Kissan Card, farmers have already received Rs.100 billion, and under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program, 110,000 houses are being constructed – an average of 290 new homes every day.
