Cop among nine killed, 17 injured in road accidents in KP, Punjab

Four people were killed and four others injured in traffic accident on Sunday in Haripur. Accident happened when a rickshaw collided with a pickup truck at Hala Chowk, reportedly due to over-speeding.

Police and rescue officials reached the site immediately and shifted the bodies and injured to hospital. Police said that further investigation to the incident were on going.

Two people were killed and two others injured in traffic accident in Upper Dir.

Accident happened when a trailer plunged into a deep ravine in the Kotchke area of College Colony. As a result, two people were killed on the spot while two others sustained injuries in the same accident.

Police said that the deceased belonged to Lakki Marwat and Takh Bhai.

Rescue teams shifted the injured to Upper Dir Hospital, where they were reported to be out of danger. Initial reports suggested that the accident occurred due to over speeding, while further investigation is underway.

Two people were killed and five others injured when two vehicles collided near Khariyanwala on Faisalabad Road.

According to Rescue 1122, the accident occurred when a vehicle’s tyre burst, causing it to crash into another car. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Imran and Tariq Mahmood. Rescue officials shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

One police official was killed and eight others sustained multiple injuries in a road traffic accident on motorway near Samundri.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Sunday that a van of Multan police was returning from Lahore when it collided with a truck running ahead it on motorcycle near Tehsil Samundri.

As a result, a police official Zafar Iqbal (48) received serious injuries and died on the spot whereas 8 others including Qadeer Ahmad (36), Nouman Mehmood (31), M Mushtaq (44), etc. were shifted to hospital, he added.
