
KARACHI – Karachi continues to grapple with rising traffic tragedies as yet another young man lost his life after being crushed by a speeding truck near the Teen Hati area, ARY News reported on Saturday. The truck driver fled the scene, while police seized the vehicle and began an investigation.
Earlier in the day, a similar accident in Maripur saw a trailer run over a student on a motorcycle, leaving another youth injured. Police said the incident occurred near Truck Adda, highlighting the growing menace of heavy traffic in the city.

Officials report that hardly a day passes without a fatal crash involving heavy vehicles on Karachi’s congested roads. Statistics reveal that during the first seven months of this year alone, 546 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents, while 8,136 others were injured.
Data shows that heavy vehicles were responsible for 165 of these deaths — with trailers, water tankers, dumpers, and buses among the top culprits. Authorities have called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and improved road safety measures to prevent further loss of life.
