SC adjourns Parachinar convoy attack case hearing

Published on: November 1, 2025 1:48 AM

The Supreme Court on Friday heard a bail petition filed by an accused arrested in connection with the attack on a convoy in Parachinar, directing him to appoint legal counsel before the next hearing. A two-member bench comprising Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Salahuddin Panhwar conducted the proceedings. The court adjourned the hearing after instructing the accused to engage a lawyer. During the hearing, counsel for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) informed the court that the incident resulted in the martyrdom of 37 people and left 88 others injured. Justice Musarrat Hilali questioned whether only one suspect had been identified in the case. She further asked whether any of the attackers who came from the mountains had been arrested. The CTD lawyer responded that the Supreme Court had previously dismissed bail petitions of nine other accused in the case. Justice Hilali also inquired about the current situation in the area and whether the routes had been reopened. The CTD counsel replied that the roads remain open daily from 9 am to 2 pm.
