The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Islamabad and Kabul reached a ceasefire after 13 hours of negotiations.
Both sides also agreed to establish a permanent mechanism for mutual peace and stability, with a follow-up meeting planned soon to ensure its implementation.

According to Qatar’s statement, the agreement aims to strengthen peace and security between the two “brotherly Islamic nations” and end border tensions for lasting regional stability.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said the agreement marks an end to terrorist activities originating from Afghan soil into Pakistan.
