In Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court, the interim bail for human rights activist Imaan Mazari, along with her husband Hadi Ali Chattha advocate and colleague Mustafain Kazmi, was extended in the case involving a physical altercation with Islamabad High Court Bar President Wajid Gilani. The court expressed frustration after the police failed to submit case records. As a result, the court prohibited the arrest of the accused until October 16 in connection with the ongoing investigation. Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain presided over the hearing and adjourned the case until October 16, when the bail applications will be reviewed again.
The case against Imaan Mazari, Hadi Ali Chattha, and others was registered at the Secretariat Police Station.
Separately, in a different legal proceeding at the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, both Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha appeared in connection with the controversial tweet case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the case. During the hearing, once again, no legal counsel appeared on behalf of Hadi Ali Chattha. Hadi Ali Chattha informed the court that he had been unable to find legal representation for his case. In response, the judge directed a letter to the Sessions Judge requesting the appointment of state counsel for Chattha. The hearing was subsequently adjourned until October 16.
