
ISLAMABAD– Toll taxes on motorways and highways across Pakistan have surged by 100% over the past fiscal year, according to official documents.
Revenue collection in FY 2024–25 crossed Rs. 64 million, compared to Rs. 32 million recorded in FY 2023–24. Data shows toll receipts from highways jumped from Rs. 17 million to more than Rs. 34 million, while motorway toll collections rose from Rs. 14 million to over Rs. 29 million.

Provincial breakdowns indicate steep hikes nationwide: Punjab registered an 84% increase in tolls, Sindh recorded a 117% rise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw a 92% increase, and Balochistan experienced an 81% surge.
Exemptions from toll payments remain in place for government vehicles, ambulances, police units, and fire brigades.
