DUBAI: Dubai Police have concluded robust security arrangements ahead of Sunday’s high-octane Asia Cup final between Pakistan and India, ensuring the historic clash unfolds in a safe yet festive environment.
In a special advisory issued in Urdu for fans, authorities instructed spectators to reach the stadium at least three hours before the toss, stressing that each ticket permits only one entry and that re-entry will not be allowed once a person exits the venue.
To prevent disturbances, police announced a strict ban on flammable items, weapons, fireworks, laser pointers, selfie sticks, tripods, glass objects, and political or unauthorized banners. The statement urged fans to extend full cooperation so that the atmosphere remains secure and celebratory.
Meanwhile, the buzz surrounding the final has reached fever pitch. Organizers confirmed to Geo News that the 28,000-capacity Dubai International Cricket Stadium is officially sold out, with every ticket snapped up days in advance.
Earlier encounters between the arch-rivals during the tournament — drawing 20,000 fans on September 14 and 17,000 on September 21 — already created electrifying scenes, but demand for the final has eclipsed all previous contests. It will be the first time Pakistan and India meet in an Asia Cup title decider.
Pakistan secured their place in the final after edging out Bangladesh by 11 runs in the Super Four stage on September 25, while India entered unbeaten, boasting world No.1 batter Abhishek Sharma and top-ranked spinner Varun Chakravarthy in their ranks.
With the stakes higher than ever, fans across the cricketing world now wait for the ultimate showdown — a sold-out finale that promises to be as historic as it is intense.
