The Department of Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat & Ushr, Government of Sindh, organized the Provincial Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference under the theme “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Constructive Use of Social Media in the Light of Seeratun Nabi (PBUH).”

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by Hamd and Naat-e-Rasool (PBUH).

In his keynote speech, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Sheerazi, Provincial Minister for Auqaf, Sindh, expressed gratitude to all participating leaders, scholars, and guests. He said that if we utilize social media platforms for character building, moral education, and the promotion of peace, it can become a great source of goodness in our society. When used for education, positive messaging, and the strengthening of ethical values, social media is a blessing. But its misuse leads to corruption, division, and immorality. It is our responsibility, in the light of Seeratun Nabi (PBUH), to protect our youth from these dangers, and for this, each of us must play a constructive role.

Later, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, while addressed the conference, said, In today’s era, social media is a powerful weapon that can be used for both good and evil. It is the duty of the state to ensure its constructive and beneficial use. The Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) teaches us to guide the youth towards truth, tolerance, and peace. Spreading lies, hatred, and discord on social media must be countered through effective policy-making. Teachers, parents, and religious leaders have an equally important responsibility to guide the young generation towards the right path.

Prominent political leaders including Shazia Karim Singhar, Parliamentary Secretary for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat & Ushr; Waqar Mehdi, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh; MNA Sadiq Ali Memon; Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah Sheerazi; Ghulam Haider Shah Sheerazi; Syed Tanveer Haider Shah Sheerazi; and Ada Muhammad Memon were also present at the conference. The event was attended by a large number of scholars, clerics, prominent academics, teachers, students, and members of civil society.
