
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced that the province has carried out the largest flood rescue operation in Pakistan’s history following devastating rains and flooding. She praised the provincial government’s quick response, which saved many lives.
Minister Bokhari said that rehabilitating flood victims remains a major challenge. She confirmed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will soon announce a comprehensive relief package to support those affected by the floods. The package will be revealed after damage assessments are completed.
According to Bukhari, Punjab faced the worst flooding in the country’s history, but timely action by the government helped reduce casualties. She highlighted the efforts of Maryam Nawaz and her team in providing aid and assistance to flood victims.
The Information Minister also criticized political opponents who blamed Punjab for the flood crisis. She pointed out that provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have suffered huge losses and have yet to offer proper help to their flood victims.
Bukhari added that Punjab has mobilized all available resources to support flood-affected families. She said damage assessments are ongoing, and once finalized, the government will take further steps to assist those in need.
