
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her leadership in managing flood relief operations across the province. He highlighted her hands-on approach in helping affected communities and coordinating rescue efforts effectively.
The Prime Minister noted that the recent floods had caused immense suffering in several regions, affecting farmers, workers, women, and children. Despite these challenges, he commended the resilience and courage displayed by ordinary citizens facing the calamity.
He also acknowledged the dedication of leaders in other provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. PM Shehbaz emphasized that collaborative efforts across federal and provincial levels have been crucial in delivering timely relief to flood-affected communities.
Through a post on his official X handle, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of leadership that actively supports rescue and rehabilitation work. He noted that proactive management and coordination had prevented the situation from worsening and saved countless lives.
Furthermore, PM Shehbaz confirmed that he had instructed all federal departments, including the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Ministry of Climate Change, to remain fully mobilized. Their role is to provide immediate support and ensure resources reach those in need efficiently.
Finally, the Prime Minister lauded Pakistanis for refusing to surrender to despair during the crisis. He underlined that continued cooperation between government agencies and communities remains essential to overcoming challenges posed by natural disasters.
