PM Shehbaz: Foreign hands behind terror in Pakistan

Published on: September 1, 2025 5:04 PM

At the SCO summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused foreign powers of using terrorism as a political tool in Pakistan. He said recent attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Jaffar Express bombing, showed clear signs of external involvement. The PM warned that terrorism threatens all of South Asia and called for global accountability.

Sharif stressed that Pakistan wants dialogue, not conflict, with its neighbors. He urged regional countries to resolve disputes through diplomacy and uphold sovereignty and peace. He highlighted the importance of a stable Afghanistan for regional security and said Pakistan is working closely with Kabul to improve ties.

The PM strongly condemned Israel’s attacks in Gaza and Iran. He repeated Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution in Palestine. Sharif said Israel’s actions are unacceptable and stressed that dialogue is the only way to solve global conflicts. He also expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Shehbaz Sharif praised China’s leadership and the success of CPEC, calling it a model for regional cooperation. He appreciated Tianjin’s role in bridging cultures and said SCO is key to unity in Eurasia. The PM also outlined Pakistan’s economic recovery, pointing to lower inflation, a stronger stock market, and climate resilience efforts.

In conclusion, Sharif urged all SCO countries to reject bloc politics and support UN reforms. He called for greater representation for developing nations in global decisions. The summit’s Tianjin Declaration echoed his points, emphasizing sovereignty, non-interference, and cooperation for peace and progress across the region.
