ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday constituted seven benches, including a larger bench, at the SC’s principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the current week commencing from today (Monday). According to the cause list for the week, Bench-1 consists of CJP Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab. Bench-II comprises Justice Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Bench-III consists of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Maqbool Baqar. Bench-IV comprises Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. Bench-V comprises Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan. Bench-VI consists of Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel. Bench-VII (larger bench) comprises Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. The larger bench will hear important cases from 11: 30 am (from Monday to Friday). Bench-1 will resume hearing from Nov 7 on the petition of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi seeking disqualification of PTI chairman Imran Khan and secretary general MNA Jahangir Tareen for non-disclosure of their assets, ownership of offshore companies, and PTI being a foreign-aided party.
