MDCAT 2025: Test date, universities & fees announced

Published on: August 7, 2025 3:53 PM

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the schedule for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025. The exam will be held nationwide on October 5, 2025, starting sharply at 10:00 AM. This annual test is crucial for students aspiring to enter medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.

PMDC has assigned different universities to conduct the test region-wise. In Punjab, the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore will organize the exam. In Sindh, it will be managed by IBA University Sukkur. For candidates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Medical University will be responsible, while in Balochistan, the University of Balochistan, Quetta will hold the test.

Candidates from Federal Capital Territory (Islamabad), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan, and even from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will sit for the exam under the supervision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.

The registration window for MDCAT 2025 opens on August 8, 2025, and closes on August 25, 2025. PMDC has also allowed a late registration period until September 1, 2025, but with an additional fee. Candidates are encouraged to register early to avoid any inconvenience.

The standard registration fee for candidates within Pakistan is Rs. 9,000. If a candidate registers during the late registration period, the fee increases to Rs. 13,000. The fee structure emphasizes the importance of timely registration to save costs and secure a seat.

MDCAT remains the gateway for thousands of students each year seeking admission into medical and dental programs. With this announcement, aspirants are urged to start their preparations early and complete their registration promptly to avoid last-minute issues.
