Two high-achieving students of the Multan Board were given a warm reception at the South Punjab Secretariat on Tuesday, following a special invitation from Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani.
Haroon Hamid, who secured 1,193 marks to top not only the Multan Board but also all education boards across Punjab, and Hafiz Abdullah, who clinched third position in Multan, were honoured for their outstanding performance in the matriculation examinations. Both students hail from Tehsil Dunyapur.
A ceremonial tribute was paid to the students by a police band, which performed national songs and gave a formal salute, while Mr Rabbani presented them with bouquets and cash prizes in recognition of their achievements.
Speaking at the occasion, the additional chief secretary praised the students as the pride of South Punjab and the future of Pakistan. “The brilliant students of South Punjab are the true assets of our nation. Their achievements are a guarantee of a bright and prosperous future,” he said.
Rabbani reaffirmed the Secretariat’s commitment to supporting emerging talent across all fields and said such recognition would continue at all levels.
Also present at the event were the students’ fathers – Hamid Ali Sharif and Khurshid Alam – as well as Special Secretary Communications and Works Aftab Pirzada.
