Sindh launches one-stop online system for business licenses

Published on: July 23, 2025 1:50 PM

The Sindh government has launched a new digital platform called the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS) to simplify business registration and licensing. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah introduced the system at a launch event held at CM House, which was attended by federal and provincial ministers, business leaders, and other stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, Shah called SBOSS a “transformative moment for Sindh’s economy,” aimed at improving business efficiency. He noted that Pakistan’s global ranking in the Ease of Doing Business index had improved from 147 to 108, and this new platform would push the province further towards growth and development.

Developed with the support of the World Bank under the CLICK Project, SBOSS currently provides 32 e-licensing services from nine departments. Eventually, the system will offer 130 services from 16 departments. It is fully online and integrates with key national databases like NADRA, SECP, and 1LINK. Moreover, it uses blockchain technology to ensure transparency and protect data integrity.

The chief minister stated that SBOSS is not just a digital tool but a major governance reform. He proudly shared that Sindh is the first province in Pakistan to introduce such a complete one-window solution for business regulatory services. This platform, he added, will support businesses of all sizes and improve investor confidence.

Looking ahead, Shah said the next phase would expand SBOSS to include more online services, business facilitation centers across Sindh, and a 24/7 digital contact center to support entrepreneurs. These steps aim to make the process easier and more predictable for anyone starting or running a business.

Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Shaikh also praised the launch and expressed hope that such initiatives would attract investors and strengthen the country’s economy. He confirmed the federal government’s full support for all efforts that improve Pakistan’s investment climate.
