Faizan Khawaja reveals struggles, says he nearly gave up

Published on: July 21, 2025 1:20 PM

Actor Faizan Khawaja has openly talked about the emotional and financial stress he faced in the entertainment industry. He said that if his father wasn’t part of showbiz, he might have taken a drastic step like suicide. In a series of emotional videos shared on Instagram, Faizan explained how delayed payments and lack of respect pushed him to the edge.

He expressed deep concern over the struggles of senior artists like Mohammad Ahmed and Mehreen Jabbar. Faizan said he completely agrees with their frustrations and added that he’s speaking up not to expose anyone but to tell the truth. Social media, however, twisted his words to make it look like he was targeting the industry for fame.

The actor shared a painful story about working in a commercial where he had to repeatedly beg for his payment. After that experience, he vowed never to do commercials again. But when his dramas and films became popular, he was offered another ad job, and sadly, the same issue happened again.

Despite receiving timely payments from 99% of producers, Faizan highlighted that many artists suffer in silence. He said his goal is to speak for those actors who don’t get paid and are afraid to raise their voice. His video aims to bring attention to these unfair practices in the industry.

Faizan also said he hasn’t quit acting but has stopped working with people who don’t pay on time. It’s been five years since his last drama. According to him, it’s unfair that actors must chase producers for their rightful money, especially when TV channels make massive profits every month.

He concluded that if his father, veteran actor-producer Rashid Khawaja, wasn’t part of the industry, he may not have survived mentally. Faizan said his next video will reveal the name of a producer who still owes him money. His message is meant for struggling artists facing similar hardships.
