Khamenei vows ‘no mercy’ as Iran fires hypersonic missiles at Israel

Published on: June 18, 2025 5:02 PM

Iran launched hypersonic missiles at Israel, marking a significant escalation. Supreme Leader Khamenei warned Iran would show “no mercy” to Israel. Iran claims it used advanced Fattah-1 missiles in the attack, which targeted Israeli territories. Meanwhile, Israel responded with air strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, killing top scientists and commanders. These actions increase fears of a wider war in the Middle East.

The U.S. watches closely and considers sending more military support. President Trump ordered the USS Nimitz carrier and fighter jets to the region. However, officials say no decision for direct intervention has been made yet. Some lawmakers introduced a bill to stop U.S. involvement in the conflict. Many Americans oppose sending troops, fearing the war will grow bigger.

Iran warns it will respond strongly if the U.S. joins the fight. Iran’s ambassador to the U.N. accused the U.S. of helping Israel and said Iran will set red lines. Turkey’s leader also said Iran has the right to defend itself. Meanwhile, Iran’s military claims to control the skies over Israel, as explosions and missile launches continue. Iran also reports intercepting Israeli drones and attacking military sites.

Israel faces shortages of missile interceptors and fears more Iranian attacks. Civilians take shelter in underground stations and evacuate cities. Some countries begin evacuating their citizens from Iran and Israel. Countries like Britain, Russia, and China move their people to safety. Flights and ships help bring stranded Israelis and foreigners back home.

The conflict causes global concern, especially for oil markets. Strikes on Iran’s oil and gas sites raise fears of supply disruptions. Both sides prepare for more fighting, while the world hopes for peace. The coming days will show how far this crisis will go.
