Aamir Khan has wooed Chinese audiences time and again with his box-office hits like PK and Dangal. This year around he’s all set to step foot across the border once again with his much-anticipated flick Secret Superstar. As reported by the Hindustan Times, Aamir is already working towards the release of the film. “Secret Superstar will definitely release in China in the next one or two months. We are working on the planning aspect of it,” said the actor. Khan, 52, plays the character of a sleazy music producer in the film’s diegesis, while in second lead to teenager Zaira Wasim who takes on the role of a schoolgirl named Insia Malik residing in a small town and living in the confines of a conservative Muslim family as she dreams the impossible dream of pursuing her singing career. Though his film has gathered widespread critical acclaim, Aamir says he doesn’t wish to rely on box office numbers to measure his film’s expected success. “Box office numbers are just one yardstick about the success of a film. If you see the numbers, we have earned double than the budget of the film. Normally, the film which recover it’s cost is called a hit, then this film should be called a super hit.” Secret Superstar is slated for release on October 19.
