TORKHAMCHAMAN: All kinds of business activities on Torkham and Chaman Borders remained suspended on second consecutive day due to growing tensions on Pakistan-Afghanistan borders. The security is on high Alert on both Torkham and Chaman Borders, while the shops, educational institutions and important business outlets located in Chaman also remained closed throughout the day. The two-way activities, Nato Supplying Trucks, Afghan Transit Trade and other all kinds of other activities from both the sides of border will also remain suspended for indefinite time. Moreover, the Intermediate examination papers have also been postponed. At least 11 people including three children and two women were killed and 46 others were injured by Afghan forces’ unprovoked firing near a major border crossing where Pakistani census officials were carrying out a count. Trucks loaded with ration dispatched by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) have also arrived here to provide food items to people.
