Lashing out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for making “false promises” to the people, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that only his party had the solution to problems of Pakistan. Speaking at a workers’ convention in Raiwind, Bilawal accused the PML-N leadership of “fleeing to London” when faced with adversity. “When they have heart problems, they escape to London. I had said even at that time that they didn’t need to go that far. Come to Karachi; we have constructed NICVD,” he added. He said that forming a people’s government was beyond the capabilities of the PML-N, asserting that only a party of martyrs was capable of doing it. He emphasised the PPP’s commitment to steering clear of hate, mudslinging, and divisive politics. “Ask the people if they can pay their electricity bills. The answer will be no,” he added. Bilawal said that his party does not make false promises, unlike PML-N and PTI. “Our ten-point agenda is people-centric, unlike what the PML-N and PTI have to offer.” The PPP chairman assured the provision of free and standardised healthcare in all districts of Punjab, asserting, “We will ensure free and quality medical facilities in every district of Punjab. Have they [PML-N] provided standardised healthcare facilities in Punjab?” Expressing confidence in his party’s candidates nationwide to win the upcoming general elections, Bilawal declared, “The PPP will give up to 300 units of electricity free and provide quality education across the country,” he further said. Earlier, Bilawal was nominated as the party’s candidate for the slot of prime minister in the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8. The decision was taken by the PPP’s top decision-making body – the Central Executive Committee (CEC) – which met at Bilawal House in Lahore on Wednesday to discuss the party’s campaign for the upcoming general election.
