International Anti-Corruption Day

International Anti-Corruption Day, observed on December 9th each year, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting actions against corruption. It provides an opportunity for governments, businesses, and citizens to join forces in combating this pervasive issue.

NAB, is a dedicated to combating corruption and white-collar crime. Its role includes, Investigation and Prosecution, NAB is tasked with investigating and prosecuting cases related to corruption, embezzlement, and financial crimes. This includes cases involving public officials, politicians, and individuals in powerful positions.

Prevention and Awareness, NAB works towards preventing corruption by promoting awareness and educating the public about the detrimental effects of corrupt practices on society. Prevention is considered a crucial aspect of their mandate. Asset Recovery, NAB is often involved in efforts to recover assets acquired through corrupt means. This includes freezing and confiscating assets linked to corruption to ensure that ill-gotten gains are returned to the state.

Impact on Society, Deterrence, NAB’s actions can serve as a deterrent, discouraging individuals from engaging in corrupt practices due to the fear of investigation and prosecution.
