SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, in view of unending student protests against the illegal occupation of the territory by India, the authorities have decided to close classes at Degree College Sopore for three days a week in a bid to prevent protests. According to Kashmir Media Service, the decision has been taken after a series of protests by the students of Degree College Sopore over the thrashing of students at Pulwama three weeks back. The new timing, aimed at preventing protests by students, will start from today here on Monday. However, the diktat will result in loss of three days class work. Class work for girl students shall be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while class work for boys will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The new arrangement will deprive students three days of class work. Sopore College has witnessed massive protests since a wave of protests erupted in colleges and schools across Kashmir following use of force against students in degree college Pulwama about three weeks back.
