Sir: The transgender community is sadly given no regard in Pakistan. Some precedents demonstrate that Pakistan is neglecting to secure the essential privileges of the transgender community. The transgender individuals are bugged in each field of life by the vast majority due to the stigma associated with them being dishonourable and a disfavour to the general public. We need legitimate laws to secure their rights at a ground level. Frequently, they are not permitted to sit or converse with people. They are compelled to live far from “typical” groups of individuals. They are abused in business sectors, government associations and every private or government establishment. The main alternative left for them is either begging or being the entertainment in private gatherings, and in despair situations, by prostitution. Tragically, our legislature has neglected to give rights to the transgender group because of which they have not been given the regard they merit as individuals. They ought to be given equivalent rights as are other men and ladies in Pakistan by law. There should be given an appropriate share in employments in each private and government association to empower them with a specific end goal to secure their future. Through the aforementioned, they can aspire to be future specialists, architects, researchers, or artisans. The government must pay heed to this issue. NOOR NAJAM KHAWAJA Islamabad
