Sir: Recently, I came across a woman in a shopping mall who lost her purse and with it some important documents and money. She realised her purse was missing on reaching the paying counter. She went out to see if she had dropped it while entering the mall. She met an elderly man at the entrance who was holding the purse. Seeing the agony on her face, the man realised that it could not be anyone but her who had lost the wallet. The woman started crying after seeing her purse in the hands of the man. Among people who had stopped to watch the scene, there was a young girl standing next to me. She told me that had she found the purse she would not have returned it. Her thoughts puzzled me and I said that if I had lost the wallet, I would have wanted it back. This gentleman did what he wanted to be done to him in a similar situation. It is important to remember that there are some fundamental rules that determine a peaceful coexistence. Isabel Costa Via Email
