RAWALPINDI: US Ambassador David Hale called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Monday. In a meeting with Hale in Islamabad on Monday, both the COAS and the US ambassador reiterated their nations’ commitment to a secure, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan, said a statement issued by the US Embassy Islamabad. COAS said that Pakistan will not permit its territory to be used against any country. Ambassador Hale affirmed Pakistan’s role and great sacrifices in fight against terrorism. The US ambassador has thanked army chief for his commitment of not allowing militants use Pakistan’s soil to conduct attacks against any country, specifically Afghanistan. Ambassador Hale, the communique said, reiterated US President Donald Trump’s call during his recent speech at the Arab-Islami summit for a vision of peace, security, and prosperity, and unity in conquering extremism and terrorism.
