Qalandars sign McCullum as new captain

Published on: September 20, 2016 6:43 PM

LAHORE: Pakisan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars have completed the signing of New Zealand legend Brendon McCullum for the 2017 season.

It is massive piece of news for all PSL fanatics out there, as Pakistan’s Premier T20 competition acquires yet another top star from the world of T20 cricket. Brendon McCullum, becomes one of the hottest signings of the competition ever since the 2015 drafts.

The Qalandar fans were left heart-broken after a lackluster first season in which they finished rock bottom of the league. To add to that, their icon player and West Indian powerhouse Chris Gayle was sent to the Karachi Kings in a swap deal for Pakistan all-rounder Sohail Tanvir.

However, the Lahore Qalandars management had something even bigger and better in store for their fans. Brendon McCullum has now arrived, and will be leading the franchise in the 2nd edition of the PSL.

The PSL teams are believed to be undergoing some major overhauls as the likes of Lasith Malinga, Albie Morkel, Kieron Pollard, Eoin Morgan and Sunile Narine, all of whom did not feature in the inaugural edition are now in contention to star for Pakistan’s city based franchises.
