768 annual urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar cancelledSpecial efforts were made to stop the crowds of devotes at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, as the Sindh government on Monday decided to cancel the 768 annual urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

DC Jamshoro-he is the chairman of mela committee Sehwan announced that due to outbreak of corona Virus Disease, the locked down will remain and no will be allowed to visit Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan Sharif.

According to Muslim lunar calendar, the annual urs began from 18 Shauban to 20 Shauban at Sehwan But this year district administration has planned to stop all type entry of devotees of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar into Sehwan city.

DC Jamshoro – Captain (r) Fareed u Ddin Mustafa, he is the chairman of mela committee of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar said that district administration has ensured the locked down and there will be no entry of any convoy of vehicles, individually or groups of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan city.

DC Jamshoro said that 768 annual urs celebrations will not be held at Sehwan on 18 Shauban. He said that every year, the annual urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar commenced from 18 Shauban to 20 Shauban as it would be on April 12, to April 14. He said that all kind of strategy was planned to stop the devotees to enter at Sehwan and Sehwan was locked down. He said that mella committee Sehwan Sharif/district administration has decided that annual urs celebrations were cancelled and has declared a policy that annual urs celebrations will not be held in this year as preventive measures from spreading of coronavirus disease.

He said that it was inter provincial locked down and inter districts locked down situation in the province as well as hence the local administration will not face any resistance of devotees to visit Sehwan. He said that home department was asked to look into tight security on the days of annual urs celebrations Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz at Sehwan. Assistant Commissioner Sehwan Noor Ahmed Khero said that according to notification of Sindh government, locked down will remain till 14 April at Sehwan. He said that it was estimated that 1.2 million visits the Sehwan city of annual urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar hence it would be danger for devotees to gather at Sehwan due to outbreak of Corona Virus disease. He said that it remained frequent roaming of Tabilighi Jamaat people at Sehwan. He said that as soon as, Sehwan administration had received information about roaming of Tablighi Jammat people, 35 Tablighi Jammat people were restricted from Sehwan city and they quarantined at Labour colony Kotri.
