Culture secretary visits Mohenjo Daro ahead of Int'l Conference in Indus ScriptSecretary, Culture Akbar Laghari accompanied by Director General Manzoor Ahmed Kanasro visited the ancient historical site where 3-day international conference entitled “Indus Script Mohenjo Daro 2020″ is to be held at the World Heritage monuments of Mohenjo Daro, on Wednesday. The conference will be participated by renowned experts of 17 countries including USA, UK, Italy, Japan, Germany, China and other countries. The conference has been organized by provincial government’s department of culture, tourism and antiques and National Fund for Mohenjo Daro. The experts are expected to share their research papers about unfolding the script written on artifacts and seals discovered from the ruins of 5000-year old Indus civilization site. The conference will be held from 9th to 11th January at Museum Hall and Sindh minister for culture Syed Sardar Shah will participate in the 1st day proceedings. It will be a major breakthrough if the Indus scripts are deciphered, experts said.
