KP govt to move PHC against less share in CPEC

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will submit a writ petition in Peshawar High Court today (Monday) against the inappropriate share of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The decision was taken after a comprehensive negotiation among the coalition partners of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government including PTI, Qawmi Watan Party (QWP) and Jamat-e-Islami (JI).

The speaker of the provincial assembly told media on Sunday at the outset of the parliamentary members meeting at Peshawar that no stone would be left unturned to ensure the region share in billions dollars project of CPEC.

Speaking about the maintainability speaker said that the petition would be submitted on the behalf of all political parties at provincial assembly and shunned any backdoor policy of the PTI over the CPEC.

He said that all constitutional and parliamentary options to be adopted to gain more and more profit for the province, adding that the tension among the small federating units rising at the country and federal government make sure its stance long before it’s too late for reconciliation.

“Neither compromise nor back door channel diplomacy with federal government would be carried out over the Western route construction and nor people of the province were kept in dark regarding PTI struggle for due right in CPEC”, Asad Qaiser claimed.

Speaker also brushed aside any conspiracy of PTI government over sidelining the CPEC issue by holding Dharana and March against the federal government.

Speaker also asked the Nawaz Sharief to wash out the dent of only being the Prime Minister of Punjab only and begin the construction of the Western rout as per the demand of the original map of the project.

He maintained that it unfortunate time for the province when some of the political parties in KP attempting political scoring and hurled allegation on PTI for sidelining the issue of Western rout construction.

Asad Qaiser claimed that being a ruling party at the province PTI could understand better the overall situation regarding the CPEC and its responsibility in the matter akin to the future prosperity of the regio.
