
KARACHI: The land grabbers in Karachi district east are drawing new strategy against Sindh government’s development projects.
Reliable sources said Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah, has recently approved education, health and healthy social activities projects in districts Malir and East.
As per his public benefit plan, the CM has granted approval for building of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Family Park on an area of 8 acres of land in district east.
Before approving the project, Shah directed Commissioner Karachi, Ejaz Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner East, Asif Jan Siddiqui, Director General Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Nasir Abbas to visit the proposed park site near Government Girls Degree College, Shah Nawaz Goth,and Gulzar-e-Erum in order to protect the land and adjoining KDA Road from land grabbers. Later, these officials submitted a report on roads and building in the area and status of land to the CM.
After competition of this process, the concerned authority issued orders for finalizing the work on Family Park and roads in the area.
The land mafia is still active against the development work in the area and has plans to encroach the roads adjoining Government girls degree college and are threatening local social workers including Fayyaz Abbasi, Shabbir Rajpar, Ghulamoo Sharo and others of dire consequences it they continue raising voice against their encroachment efforts and in favor of development projects, Daily Times has learnt.
The sources revealed that leader of the land mafia in area has already sold out 4-acres of amenity plot and 13-acres of graveyard land in name of Shah Inayat Village on commercial basis during 2012-13.
