Published on: August 22, 2019 1:43 AM

After the martyrdom of Khanpur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rao Shafiullah, who was killed during an encounter with dacoits in Katcha area of Garhi Tegho, riverine area of Khanpur tehsil of district Shikarpur, during an attempt to rescue detained/kidnapped team of musician, including famous Sindh Singar Jagar Jalal, the Shikarpur police have dispatched heavy contingent of police and laid siege to the Katcha area to arrest the killers and rescue the kidnapped singer Jagar Jalal.

Speaking to the media men, Irfan Baloch, the DIG Larkana, said that the killers of martyred DSP must be taken to task without further ado added if any influential of the area found involved in firing on police who would be arrested and ensured that singer would be released as soon as possible.

Apart from this, after the encounter Farooque Amjad, the ASP Shikarpur claimed to have killed three dacoits during an encounter and their names would be shared with media, but neither police have produced the bodies of dacoits nor police have shared the names of killed dacoits so far.

According to reports reaching here, the charge of operation to rescue the Sindhi Singer Jagar Jalal and his team and the arrest of notorious dacoits handed over to Masood Bangash, the SSP Larkana to deal with dacoits because he has already quite information of Katcha area while he has taken part in such sort of operation before this under the supervision of the then SSP Shikarpur Nasir Aftab Pathan.

Also, the charge of Shikarpur has been handed over to SSP Asad Raza, the sitting SSP Kashmore-Kandhkot when the sitting SSP Shikarpur Ameer Sajjad Sadoozi went on four days casual leave, on his personal request, sources said.

Jigar Jalal, the famous singer of Sindh, while giving message to Police through local news channel, said that instead of arresting people and raiding at Katcha area to release him and his team, he advised resort to local influential persons of the area to release him and his team otherwise they will be killed, media channel reported.

The condition of the injured police cop was said to be serious at Sukkur Hospital, who also sustained profound bullet wounds in an encounter yesterday in which DSP embraced martyrdom.

It is noteworthy that a famous singer of Sindh and his team held hostages / detained by a few unknown Teghani community persons when famous singer Jigir Jalal was called to perform in the wedding ceremony held at Katcha area of Napar-Kot while advance payment was made through easy paisa account after receiving payment singer reached at the desired venue and he along with his team held hostage.

It is also worthwhile to mention here that three police officers including DSP Shafiullah, one SHO, one ASI and one APC driver have also embraced martyrdom and many police personnel have also sustained grave bullet wounds in firing with dacoits at Katcha area of Chak town and Katcha area of Garhi Tegho, riverine area of Khanpur, apparently lack of strategy and leak of secret information with respect to police raids.

The people of Shikarpur asked for the Chief Minister of Sindh, Inspector General of Police Sindh, the Additional IGP Sukkur Dr Jameel Ahmed, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Larkana Irfan Baloch to take notice and devise comprehensive strategy to cope with dacoits for the welfare of the people of Sindh and raised their voice regarding leak of secret information and killing of police officers in past recent attacks during raid in Shikarpur.
