PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports, Mehmood Khan, has said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government was set to establish the Directorate of Youth and that the inauguration of Youth Development Programme was also on the cards to promote youth mobilisation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The Minister of Youth Affairs informed that the KP government had already allocated one billion rupees for the Directorate of Youth project. “The PTI government has worked on every level to promote healthy activities and open new dimensions for the development of youth,” Mehmood Khan said.
Under the proposed project, youth offices will be opened in all 26 districts of the province. An official source informed this scribe that each district youth office would hold different curricular and co-curricular activities for youth including visits to the chamber offices and trade centers across the country.
The district officer would be appointed by the directorate through general selection of tests that are followed by other directorates for the appointments of the employees.
The official sources added that the people of KP voted for change and the PTI government would not let down their hopes. It is a big opportunity for the youth of KP to work for the betterment of their own province.
Minister Mehmood Khan said that the provincial government had to its credit, the arrangement of different events for the development of youth in past. “The government has arranged sport gala at different venues, indoor and outdoor games in different schools, colleges and universities around the province and now we are establishing the directorate of youth,” he said.
Mehmood Khan claimed that the proposed directorate of youth was an even bigger achievement for the youth of the province and that the people and young voters should be proud of electing a youth friendly government in the province.
He further said that the development and better social education of the youth was the concern of the PTI government. “No nation can rise until the youth is supported to raise the standards of people living in the society,” the Minister Sports said. The Directorate of youth would focus on the development of social gathering, educational brilliance and professional learning of youth in the work field as will in day to day life.
