MIRPURKHAS: A 16-year-old girl was subjected to a brutal gang rape on Thursday. She attempted to commit suicide after the traumatic experience over the behavior of the Satellite Town Police when treating her case filed for sexual assault.
The young girl was transferred to the Civil Hospital in critical condition after having drank poison.
On Thursday, the police arrested three suspects for allegedly gang-raping the girl. Her FIR reported that the girl had gone out to buy groceries and while she was on her way, three predators kidnapped her, taking her to a secluded area where she was subjected to sexual assault.
On top of this, the three rapists recorded the ordeal from start to finish, threatening the survivor to make the video viral if she spoke about the sexual assault to anyone.
When the Civil Hospital in Mirpurkhas confirmed in their initial report after a medical check-up of the girl that she had been raped, the three men were arrested.
The girl’s family claimed that the girl had gone to this extreme after being discouraged by the police’s response to her case. Doctors at the Civil Hospital confirmed that the girl had attempted suicide and was being treated for it.
The police reported on Thursday that DNA samples were being sent to Islamabad for verification and further investigation into the gang rape case.
