Mehreen Jabbar and Abid Ali reunite for ‘Dil Kiya Karay’

Published on: January 6, 2019 3:56 AM

Mehreen Jabbar is a director one can easily rely on for choosing a great cast. Even the simplest of tales are presented by Mehreen Jabbar through her characteristic, soft style of story-telling and her choice of actors. Greats like Badar Khalil, Humayun Saeed, Nadia Jamil, Sania Saeed, Muhammad Ahmed, Adeel Hussain, Sanam Saeed, Sonia Rehman, Faisal Rehman and Shamim Hilali have frequently appeared in Jabbar’s works.

Abid Ali worked under Jabbar’s direction for the first time in ‘Shaam Se Pehle’ which was one of Jabbar’s beautiful long plays from the 1990s. ‘Shaam Se Pehle’ like the other works of the director, was also a work rich with some of the best actors of Pakistan such as Uzma Gillani, Badar Khalil and Sajida Syed

Her latest piece to go on air and which is one of the most-awaited television serials of 2019 along with Nadia Khan’s ‘Kam Zarf’ is ‘Dil Kiya Karay’. While Jabbar will be working for the first time with Yumna Zaidi in ‘Dil Kiya Karay’, she will be bringing veteran actor Abid Ali back in her directorial work after almost two decades.

Abid Ali worked under Jabbar’s direction for the first time in ‘Shaam Se Pehle’ which was one of Jabbar’s beautiful long plays from the 1990s. ‘Shaam Se Pehle’ like the other works of the director, was also a work rich with some of the best actors of Pakistan such as Uzma Gillani, Badar Khalil and Sajida Syed.

Now, after so many years, the marvellous performer and the flawless director have re-united and it is yet to be seen how their second effort together will turn out to be. It is hoped that with young and lovable actors like Yumna Zaidi, Feroze Khan and Mirza Zain Baig and respectable senior actors like Sarmad Khoosat, Sonia Rehman, Marina Khan, Tanveer Jamal, Zaheen Tahira, Shamim Hilali and Ali, ‘Dil Kiya Karay’ will surely win the hearts of Pakistanis.
