COAS confirms death sentences of 11 hardcore terrorists: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (CPAS) General Qamar Bajwa on Friday has confirmed death sentences awarded to 11 hardcore terrorists.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement COAS confirmed death sentences to 11 hardcore terrorists, who were involved in heinous offences related to terrorism, said an.

The ISPR said that the terrorists were involved in attacking and killing armed forces/law enforcement agencies, killing of innocent civilians and destruction of an educational institution.

“On the whole, they were involved in killing of 26 persons including a civilian and 25 armed forces, frontier constabulary, police officials and injuring 22 others.

ISPR stated that Arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession. These convicts were tried by special military courts.

The army’s media wing said that 22 convicts have also been awarded imprisonment. Details of convictions provided by ISPR are as follows:

  1. Anwar Salam S/O Said Nazar
  2. Irfan ul Haq S/O Dilbar
  3. Sahib Zada S/O Akbar Zada
  4. Nadir Khan S/O Ahmed, Izat Khan S/O Bashreen and Imtiaz Ahmed S/O Taj Muhammad
  5. Ameer Zeb S/O Jahangir and Badshah Iraq S/O Muhammad Ishaq
  6. Izhar Ahmed S/O Mukhtiar Ahmed
  7. Akbar Ali S/O Shaiber Sahib
  8. Muhammad Imran S/O Aziz Ur Rehman
