
ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Wednesday adjourned senate session till Friday after opposition again protest against Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry for again criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Senator Mushahidullah Khan.
The clash between the information minister and PML-N senator could not end after Fawad Chaudhry again criticises the Mushahidullah Khan during senate session.
The Senate chairman demanded an apology from the information minister for his remarks on a member in the National Assembly. Chaudhry refused to apologise and said: “Why should I apologise from those who looted national exchequer. Mushahidullah Khan appointed his entire family in the PIA.”
The opposition members, subsequently, protested over the remarks.
Senator Mushahidullah Khan said Fawad Chaudhry’s entire family is thief and called him ‘an accomplice of General (retd) Musharraf’. He also demanded the Senate chairman to order Chaudhry to leave the house.
Chaudhry proceeded with his attack on Senator Mushahidullah in spite of repeated orders from the Senate chairman. He overlooked Senate chairman’s order to leave the house. The house’s proceeding was dismissed for 15 minutes because of disorder.
Fawad Chaudhry apologized after the resumption of the session.
“My remarks were not intended to hurt anybody but rather I apologies for my comments,” he said.
However, minutes after the fact, the information minister again turn on his assault against Mushahidullah Khan, asserting that the PML-N leader gave employments and utilized his impact for the advancements for his relatives in the Pakistan International Airlines.
The remarks triggered protest by the opposition leading to dismiss of the session.
