Sir: The government of Pakistan made the decision to prohibit VIP protocol at airports on August 26, 2018. In my opinion, this was a good decision. All people deserve to be equal before the law. In the past, ordinary citizens waited in long ques while politicians, legislators, military officials and big name journalists were rushed through because of ‘VIP protocol’.
However, previous governments also tried to implement this in their tenures but were unable to implement it. Regardless, the government has declared that from now on all travellers will be given equal treatment. It has also instructed the FIA not to harass passengers leaving the country. I commend the government for making this decision, and look forward to its implementation.
