Students of the Department of Public Administration of Karachi University on Tuesday held a protest against the unfortunate incident in Bangladesh wherein two students lost their lives in a road accident, prompting mass protest and subsequent crackdown of the Bangladesh government.
They were of opinion that instead of giving punishment, the Bangladeshi government was supporting culprits, causing anger among students worldwide. They also condemned the shutdown of Internet and social media by the Bangladeshi government.
KU’s Assistant Professor and Road Safety Ambassador Dr Salman Zubair said, “Human lives are very precious irrespective of nationality. It is highly unfortunate that 60 percent of road accident victims are youth. Students must play their role in promoting civic sense among people.” He appealed to the newly elected members of assemblies to devise a sound and comprehensive traffic management and road safety mechanism.
Separately, the KU has extended the last date of Sale/Collection of Chinese Language Certificate Courses Admission Forms.
KU Director Admissions has notified that the schedule for Chinese language for the fall session in Certificate Courses in Level 1 and Business Chinese has been extended until August 10. Application forms can be obtained and submitted with the required documents from/at UBL at University Campus Branch after payment of Rs 500.
