Writ of state restored in tribal areas: governor

Published on: April 19, 2018 3:27 AM

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Wednesday said that due to successful operations by the armed forces, sacrifices by law enforcement agencies and people of FATA, peace as well as writ of the state has been restored in the tribal areas.

“Pakistan Army has successfully cleared almost whole the country from organized terrorist groups,” he told a ceremony at the Governor’s House. He said following the ‘Paigham-e-Pakistan’ programme recently launched by the state of Pakistan was the need of the hour. “It will provide basis for wiping out extremism, terrorism, sectarianism and linguistic prejudices from the country,” he said. The struggle against intellectual dishonesty could only be made successful by following the initiative in letter and spirit, he said, and stressed the need to implement the message across country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, to achieve the purpose. “It is also a source of inspiration at the time when we as a nation are in the national reconstruction process,” he noted.

The governor said that Pakistan is blessed with the best manpower. Amongst the overall populace, he said, the youth, imbibed with the spirit of patriotism, are in majority. He said unity in thoughts makes the unity in actions possible and in this connection the Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative can play an important role. To counter negative thinking, he added, promotion of constructive thinking and a national message based on correct ground realities is also the need of the time.

The Islamic Research Institute and the International Islamic University Islamabad, he said, have rendered hard work in chalking out the document which has been further refined by Wafaqul Madaras and faculties of the universities. He stressed that the message needs to be communicated to all segments of society. “To disseminate the message abroad, the embassies of Pakistan should play their role,” he suggested.

Referring to the youth of Pakistan, the governor said that they need to play their role through a collective struggle for making Pakistan a great country.

Minister of State Ghalib Khan Advocate, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Dr Qibla Ayaz, chairman of Council of Islamic Ideology, International Islamic University Islamabad Rector Dr Maasoom Yasinzai, provincial ministers and a number of tribal elders and teachers were present on the occasion.
